Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using NooTax (“Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. NooTax is a tax preparation software service and is not a CPA, tax attorney, or financial advisor.

2. Tax Filing Service

NooTax provides tax preparation software to assist you in preparing your federal and state income tax returns. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of information provided. NooTax is an IRS-authorized e-file provider (EFIN required).

3. Accuracy Guarantee

If NooTax makes a calculation error that results in an IRS penalty, we will reimburse you for the penalty and interest directly caused by our error, up to $10,000. This guarantee does not apply to errors caused by incorrect information you provided or changes in tax law after filing.

4. Maximum Refund Guarantee

If you find a larger federal tax refund (or smaller tax liability) using the same information with a competing tax software, we will refund your NooTax purchase price. Claim must be made within 60 days of filing. Excludes state returns and free plan users.

5. User Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information
  • Review your return before signing and submitting
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Not use the service for fraudulent or illegal purposes
  • Understand that electronic signature constitutes a legal signature under penalty of perjury

6. Pricing and Refunds

Free plan features are available at no charge. Paid plans are charged at filing. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee if you are unsatisfied for any reason other than covered under our guarantees above. State return fees are non-refundable once the return is transmitted to state agencies.

7. Limitation of Liability

NooTax's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the current tax year. We are not liable for IRS audits, penalties, or interest arising from incorrect information you provided, or from tax law interpretations made in good faith.

8. AI Tax Assistant Disclaimer

The AI Tax Assistant provides general tax information and guidance, not professional tax advice. For complex tax situations, consult a licensed CPA or tax attorney. AI responses may not reflect the most current IRS guidance or your specific circumstances.
